What you need first
- Room for one more agent on your plan — a copied template is an agent like any other.
Find a template#
Step 1: Open Agents, press New agent and choose Use a template
The Choose a template page opens.
Step 2: Look under your industry first
Templates are grouped as For your industry (…) — the business type you chose at setup — then For every industry, then Other industries. Search templates... and the industry chips narrow the list.
Copy it into your workspace#
Press a template's card (Use template). It is copied straight away — there is no preview step — and the copy opens as a new agent named after the template.
- Copied
- The agent's description, language, tone, welcome message and guidelines, and its workflow — as a draft, not yet published.
- Not copied
- Knowledge, the widget's look and any database connections. Those are yours to add.
Good to know: Each template can be copied once per workspace. Its card then shows Your copy, and pressing it (Open your copy) opens the agent you already have.
Depends on your plan: The copy counts toward the number of agents your plan allows. Compare plans.
Make it yours#
Step 1: Rename it
On Agents, open the card's ⋯ menu and choose Edit Basic Info.
Step 2: Teach it your business
Add your documents, website and FAQ on Train Agent — see Build your first agent.
Step 3: Check the workflow
Open it from Workspace. Point the business steps at your own setup: the campaign in Lead Capture, the pool in Human Handoff, and so on.
Step 4: Test and publish
Run Test Chat, then Publish — see Workflows.
