Put the agent on your website

Publish the agent, copy one script tag into your site, choose which websites may show it, and set its name and colours.

What you need first

  • An agent with a published workflow — see Workflows.
  • Access to your website's code, or to a place in your site builder where you can add a script (WordPress, for example, through its footer or header settings).
On this page
  1. Get the code
  2. Add it to your website
  3. Choose where it may answer
  4. Set its name and colours
  5. Voice, and using it in an app

Get the code#

  1. Step 1: Publish the workflow

Press Publish in the workflow builder. The Publish Integration panel opens with Website Integration — the Script to copy.

  2. Step 2: Or find it later

Open the agent and choose Integration Code. It shows Live once a workflow is published (Not live yet before), and the script under On your website, with a Copy button.

What the script looks like (copy your own — the values are unique to your agent)
<script src="https://…/agent-builder/deployments/widget.js"
  data-agent-id="…" data-workflow-id="…" data-api-key="…" async></script>

Good to know: The key in the script is meant to be public: it only lets a page chat with this one agent. It cannot read your leads, chats or settings.

Add it to your website#

  1. Step 1: Paste the script into every page that should show the chat

The usual place is just before the closing </body> tag, or your site's footer — one place in a shared footer covers the whole site.

  2. Step 2: Publish your site and open it

A chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. On phones the chat opens full screen.

  3. Step 3: Send a test message

Your chat appears on Conversations with the channel Website.

Choose where it may answer#

Anyone can copy a script from a page's source. To make sure your agent answers only on your own sites, list them on Integration Code under Where this chat may answer → Your websites, and press Save.

  • Left empty, the chat works on any website.
  • One entry covers the whole site: with or without www, http or https, and every page under it.
  • On a website that is not listed, the chat does not appear at all.

Set its name and colours#

Open the agent and choose its Customize page ("Customize embedded chat widget"), then set:

  • Agent Name — shown in the chat header.
  • Logo URL — the web address of your logo image (it is linked, not uploaded).
  • Header Color, Footer Color and Text & Button Color.

Press Save Changes. The first message visitors see is the Welcome Message on the workflow's Start step.

Good to know: The chat always sits in the bottom-right corner; there is no setting to move it. There is no hosted chat page or QR code — the chat lives on your own website.

Voice, and using it in an app#

  • Voice: when your plan includes voice chat, the chat shows a mic button. Visitors talk instead of typing — English, Hindi or a mix — and the agent answers out loud. There are no phone calls.
  • Mobile app: Integration Code → In a mobile app gives your developer an endpoint and the request body to send messages to the same agent.

Depends on your plan: Voice chat is a module of its own. Compare plans.
